In Italy, small family restaurants are known as osterias, and their chefs often name the establishments after themselves. Massimiliano Montiroli, one of the most famous chefs in the history of Moscow restaurants, is responsible for both cuisine and atmosphere at "Osteria Montiroli".
Ability to be a good cokers is "in the blood" of the majority of italians. Montiroli definiteli has it in his own. He is a chef by birth. his family had even owened a restaurant in Rome area.
At "Osteria", Massimiliano does the same as he would in Italy: He creates exquisite dishes and fosters the lively, cheerful atmosphere of a genuine Italian eatery, something that is rarely found in Moscow restaurants with an Italian menu. Massimiliano greets his guests and exchanges a few words with them, demonstrating that a true Italian chief doesn't only have to create pasta and pizza with the skill of a virtuoso, but should also always remain in view.
The authenticity of the atmosphere at the "Osteria" owes a great deal to the furnishings by designers Alexander Vertinsky and Yelena Lazarenko. They transformed the two-storey space into a genuine Italian home. All the furniture and fittings were transported from various corners of Tuscany: the chairs and tables come from Pisa, the pictures from antique stores in Sarzana, and the ceramic crockery and vases were obtained from producers in the ancient town of San Gimignano. Antique tiles are used for flooring on the first storey. No one should miss the unique furnishings of Osteria Montiroli.
